Teen Duo Nabbed After Police Pursuit In Hudson Valley

Two teens wanted for a variety of alleged traffic and vehicle violations fled from police before being nabbed in the Hudson Valley following a parking lot crash.

The incident began in Ulster County in the town of Lloyd at 1:15 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, when two teens in a 2022 Hyundai Elantra traveling northbound on Route 9W fled from police in an attempted traffic stop and ended in Dutchess County in Poughkeepsie,

According to Trooper Steven Nevel, troopers pursued the vehicle toward the city of Poughkeepsie and terminated the pursuit before entering the city.

Nevel said the vehicle was later spotted and reported to have been in a collision with multiple unoccupied parked cars in a parking lot on Main Street in Poughkeepsie.

The car was empty, but troopers and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department officers located the suspects at Mill St and North Bridge Street, where they were arrested, Nevel said.

The suspects were identified as an 18-year-old male from Bogota, New Jersey, and Amari Webb, age 19, of Poughkeepsie. 

 Located within the vehicle were three illegal handguns. Webb and the 18-year-old suspect were both charged with the following:

  • Three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Three counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon

Webb also received multiple traffic violations. 

Both suspects were remanded to the Ulster County Jail, and bail was set at $200,000 cash, $300,000 bond, and $400,000 partially secured bond.
